For the longest time I was determined to include everything I found on the beach - from a single day's walk - in one all-encompassing photograph. It seemed important to document that day's haul, but what I eventually learned is that the whitish~lighter pieces would often fade into the background of the white paperboard that I was using. This was a problem, and my solution was to toss those pieces into a separate box. Eventually, when I had enough pieces, I would gather them together on a black background and form them into a manageable square shape. This one, without any planning or intention, seems to contain items you would see at an excavation site.
