I've long had an attraction to common bricks that have been battered and smoothed over by the sand and the current of the water. It's taken me a long time to amass this many of those bricks because they're too heavy to lug around if I'm on a long walk or on my bike, so I can only collect a couple at a time. To design this image I had to set it up in my backyard and then shoot it while perching on a ladder. It reminds me of a city that you might see while looking out the window of an airplane.
