All of these pieces of driftwood and other natural objects were found on the beach over the course of a few days in the spring of 2022. After I finished the layout and photograph, I recounted a passage I'd once read, something that stuck with me over time, perhaps waiting for me to find a way to put it into context: "When I envision love, I see a secret little fort in the woods, with two people safe and warm on the inside, and all the obligations, responsibilities, and tedium of adult life milling about on the outside."
