When I emptied this box of stuff onto my work table and laid things out for the photo, I initially felt that I had failed to properly capture what was there, so I deleted that photo, took it apart and started over. The second version also felt like I missed the mark so I tried it a third time. I was unsatisfied with that version too, but kinda gave up and posted it Facebook and Instagram anyhow. The fact is that things don't always gel. However, a couple of days later, while in a conversation with an artist friend, he specifically asked about that image and said it really grabbed ahold of him. When he told me why, I was then able to see it in a different light and that freed me up to uncover the story that had unfolded in the image.
